My Favourite Household Chore

Last day of Laundry on the line Oct 18 2017 :(

Last day of Laundry on the line Oct 18 2017 :(

LOVE hanging laundry and am sad that this season has drawn to an end once more.  This is a throw back to happy times 3 weeks ago...

I love saying hi to my back neighbours and side neighbours, they of all folks have seen the real me, in velcro rollers and housecoat but even that brings me joy!

I am very organized as to how I hang, sorting it so husband is first on the line in a specific order, Shirts, pants, shorts, undergarments and socks paired up as I hang.  Next is mine in order and last is boy's.  When it is time to bring it all back in they are easily folded into the basket by type and person so put away is easy.

This is one of my huge ways of keeping down clutter.  Dishes and Laundry are completed from beginning to end in a day here.  There are no baskets hanging around waiting to be sorted and folded.  Also it is a great time for me to assess what needs to go in the donation bag at the door since the seasons are changing and son is growing like a weed.

I try to have specific days for different types of Laundry.

Friday is the ritual of crispy, sweet smelling bed linens, this makes a Saturday sleep in that much more special.  *Sigh* but now they are soft from the dryer, not the same... however on the bright side the flannels are coming out soon.

Saturday - darks then lights and Sunday afternoon towels and such.

We got a larger washing machine this summer and a load filled the line.  It's taking some adjustment to figure out how not to overstuff our poor dryer. #firstworldproblems

Honestly I am NOT that detailed in other areas of household chores but this one is a love for me and my pride factor is high.

What is your favourite chore?
